An overall view

Mas de Covel is an independent chalet located in the hearth of the Stelvio National Park at 1.835 m a.s.l.Surrounded by a grassy meadow of about 5.000 m2, the Chalet is located in the charming area of Covel which houses the homonymous waterfall, the biotope and the mountain cottage where in summer the farmers dedicate themselves to goat breeding.

The Chalet is disposed on two floors: on the gound floor there are the kitchen with a wood cook stove and a 4-ringed cooker and a small bathroom with floor shower. On the first floor, which is accessed by an external staircase, there is a bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and a bunk bed.

Outside, the Chalet offers a wide and flat private meadow, parking for cars and a barbecue for pleasant lunches with friends. Next to the Chalet, a larger building is used as wood storage and stock deposit.

Electricity is produced by a small solar panel which allows the recharge of mobile phones and the use of electric razors, radio and lights bulbs. In case of need for limited period, such as to use the hairdryer, in the adjacent building there is a power generator that can be switched on if necessary.

The Chalet can be reached by car with a convenient dirt forest road of about 2 km starting from the town of Peio Paese.

Location & Activities

Mas de Covel is about 2 km away from the characteristic village of Peio Paese, which hosts the last dairy farm of the region Trentino where the milk of cows and goats is processed and where it is also possible to buy various dairy local products.

A short distance away by car there are: the wildlife area where you can see deer and roe deer up close and the Thermal Spa of Peio where you can enjoy pleasant moments of relax.

The Chalet benefits of an excellent position for trekking and mountain bike tours which will allow you to reach prestigious places such as Rifugio Scoiattolo, Malga Saline and Rifugio Doss dei Cembri.

The Ortler Cevedale mountain range will passionate the most experienced and trained mountaineers, with thrilling and satisfying climbs among the high peaks of Val di Sole.
