PROGRAM
Chamonix-Zermatt is the first major crossing in the history of ski touring in the Alps, the most famous one, accomplished for the first time in 1861 by English mountaineers.
It represents the most fascinating and evocative Haute Route of the Alps, connecting the world capital of mountaineering with the splendid Zermatt, at the foot of the unmistakable Matterhorn.
Its notoriety comes from the stunning atmosphere and the high altitude scenarios which the Haute Route has always offered.
The Chamonix-Zermatt is a great classic for ski touring enthusiasts, but still challenging: altitude, length and elevation gain require a good level of training.
