PROGRAM

Alpine Gourmet Ski Safari: self-guided and private guided ski tour

This is not your usual ski vacation, it is much more than that. The gourmet ski safari is an exclusive tour designed with attention to every detail that develops at the foot of the legendary peaks of the Dolomites. The pleasure of skiing meets the best of Alpine cuisine. This tour combines the world's most famous slopes in the Dolomites with high-altitude culinary experiences, dining in Michelin-starred restaurants. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a wine tour that will crown your food and wine experience in the Dolomites.

In seven days, you will explore six renowned ski areas in the Dolomites. The tour begins in Val Gardena, where you can ski in picture-postcard locations at the foot of the Sassolungo. You will then continue to Marmolada, the highest glacier in the Dolomites, where you can enjoy breathtaking views before plunging into the wild beauty of the Civetta ski area. The ski safari cannot end without skiing on the wide high-altitude slopes of Alta Badia and Val di Fassa.

Each area is unique and offers the opportunity to admire the beauty of the Dolomites from different perspectives. Every day brings new slopes, new experiences, and new emotions. Let the curves guide you and savor every moment of your vacation.

Along the way, you will enjoy unique experiences. The gourmet ski safari offers the opportunity to dine in two renowned Michelin-starred restaurants; you will sleep in cozy mountain huts and savor the best of Italian Alpine flavors both on and off the slopes.

You can decide whether to experience the itinerary independently with a self-guided tour or be accompanied by an expert guide. In any case, Campo Base will take care of all the details to offer you an unforgettable experience.

The tour is designed for expert skiers who want to experience more than just a simple skiing holiday.

Program details:

  • Day 1
Your alpine journey begins in Val Gardena, one of the most iconic and characteristic valleys of the Dolomites. Historically it was inhabited by the Ladins, now a small ethnic group. Since the 1600s, Val Gardena has been famous for its woodcarving tradition. Walking through the streets of the villages, you will see many wooden sculptures and decorations. After settling into your 4-star hotel you can explore the villages, relax, and prepare for an unforgettable week of skiing and fine dining.

  • Day 2 - GARDENA RONDA
Your first full day on the slopes begins in the heart of Val Gardena, along a scenic ski circuit that connects the three main villages of the valley: Selva, Santa Cristina and Ortisei. You will ski at the foot of the jagged peaks of Sassolungo where you can challenge yourself on the famous Saslong, a World Cup slope. As you continue, sweeping views open over the Odle group: here the peaks rise like belltowers from the valley below. For those seeking a gentler and quieter corner, it is possible to reach Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s highest alpine plateau. In the evening, get ready a whole new dining experience. A private transfer will take you to a Michelin-starred restaurant located in the valley, where culinary artistry meets mountain tradition. A multi-course tasting menu awaits you, reinterpreting local flavors with refined creativity, the perfect way to end your first day of skiing.

  • Day 3 - MARMOLADA GLACIER
The adventure continues towards Marmolada, the highest peak in the Dolomites at 3.343 meters. As the cable car climbs, the world opens up under your feet and you feel like you can touch the sky. A sea of snow-capped peaks stretching towards the horizon. The excitement continues with the legendary descent on the glacier: a 12-kilometer slopes that from 3.300 meters take you down to the valley below. After this adrenaline run, you can continue on to the Serrai di Sottoguda, a spectacular gorge carved into stone and ice. This natural corridor, flanked by frozen waterfalls and sheer walls, creates one of the most cinematic slopes in the Alps. The day ends in true Alpine style with a night in a mountain hut, offering rustic charm and star-lit tranquility.

  • Day 4 - CIVETTA AND PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO
After an hearty breakfast, the day begins once you reach the Civetta ski area. This ski resort offers long descents with stunning views of Mount Pelmo and Civetta, as well as of the surrounding valleys. The area is certainly less well known, but it can be described as one of the most authentic ski resorts in the Dolomites. You can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of crowded resorts. In the afternoon, a short transfer takes you to Passo San Pellegrino. From here, with a ride on a snowmobile, you reach your hut for the night, nestled in an alpine basin of rare beauty surrounded by the Costabella Mountain group and with views of the Pale di San Martino. The hut immediately offers a warm atmosphere: wooden interiors, hot stoves, and refined cuisine. The perfect prelude to a night in the mountains, under starry skies.

  • Day 5 -  VAL DI FASSA SKI AREA
Today you travel to Val di Fassa, a valley nestled in the Trentino Dolomites and surrounded by famous mountain ranges. The day begins in the Bufaure ski area, a small resort much appreciated for its tranquility and picturesque slopes. The view stretches from Catinaccio to Sassolungo and Marmolada: a true natural spectacle. After a few exciting descents, you then follow the famous Sellaronda circuit, which will lead you to Alta Badia in the afternoon, passing through Passo Pordoi and Passo Campolongo, always on skiis. The evening continues with a private transfer to a refined Michelin-starred Weinstube. Here, the menu changes every day, creating dishes with ingredients carefully selected each morning. A moment of sharing, in a warm and rustic setting that combines elegance and tradition.

  • Day 6 - ALTA BADIA SKI AREA
The last day of skiing in Alta Badia will be unforgettable: the ski safari combines sport, taste, and Alpine culture in a single experience. Accompanied by a ski instructor and a professional sommelier, you set off on a journey through the most scenic mountain huts in the area, with guided tastings right on the snow. Between one slope and another, each break becomes an excellent opportunity to savor a selection of local wines, presented and described by the sommelier in an authentic and evocative setting. It's a different way to experience the Dolomites and discover their food and wine culture. At the end of the day, you return to the hotel to fully enjoy your last evening in Alpine style and reflect on the exciting week you have just spent.

  • Day 7
