PROGRAM
Easy flow Ski Safari: self-guided and private guided ski tour
Have you ever dreamed of skiing in the Italian Alps, enjoying every single moment? This is the perfect experience for you!
Our 7-day tour is designed for passionate skiers who appreciate iconic splopes, breathtaking landscapes, high-quality accommodations and the time to truly enjoy it all surrounded by the beauty of the Dolomite Mountains.
You will spend five unforgettable days on the slopes, exploring four legendary ski areas in the Dolomites: Alta Badia, Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), Marmolada and Val Gardena. Each destination has its unique characteristics and offers different experiences - from spectacular scenery and alpine culture to a wide variety of terrain. You can enjoy wide panoramic slopes, but also steep descents on a glacier or picturesque itineraries through charming villages. Every day, the itinerary leads you to discover a new dimension of skiing.
The journey begins in the heart of Alta Badia, among sunny slopes, gourmet mountain huts, and world-famous slopes such as Gran Risa. You then continue to Plan de Corones for a day of perfect slopes with spectacular views of the Austrian Alps. The Marmolada glacier, the highest peak in the Dolomites, awaits you for a legendary descent. Finally you move towards Val Gardena, where you can ski on a section of the Sellaronda, a circular route that develops around the Sella Massif that crosses four Alpine valleys.
During this ski safari, you will stay in two carefully selected 4-star hotels located in two of the most iconic Alpine villages in the Dolomites - Alta Badia and Val Gardena. These accommodations offer the perfect balance between traditional alpine atmosphere and modern comfort, where you can recharge your batteries with Italian cuisine, local wines and, if you wish, spa treatments.
You can choose to experience your ski safari in the Dolomites in two ways: independently (self-guided) or accompanied by a Ski Guide. On a self-guided safari, you ski on your own at your preferred pace. Campo Base takes care of all the organization — from selecting and booking hotels to creating a detailed daily itinerary — and offers 24/7 support during your trip.
If you prefer a guided ski safari, you are accompanied by a Mountain Guide for the entire duration of the trip. On request, it is also possible to include some off-piste itineraries. Having a guide guarantees a flawless experience, tailored to your needs and it offers the opportunity of getting to know more about the local culture and traditions.
This tour is designed for skiers who are able to ski on medium-difficulty slopes (red slopes).
Program details:
- Day 1
The ski safari begins in Alta Badia, where you will settle comfortably into your carefully selected 4-star hotel. Alta Badia is a well-known ski resort which has three main villages. Alpine traditions are very important in this area, as people remain strongly connected to their local culture and heritage. Here, the Ladin language is still spoken, reflecting the region's identity. You can spend the afternoon exploring these charming villages and relaxing before taking off tomorrow.
- Day 2 - SKI AREA ALTA BADIA
The Alta Badia ski area covers approximately 130 km of perfectly groomed and sunny slopes. It is the ideal destination for skiers of all levels. You will find wide slopes that are ideal for intermediate skiers, while the more daring can try the steep Gran Risa slope, one of the most famous on the World Cup circuit. Skiing in Alta Badia also means experiencing Ladin culture and enjoying its food and wine traditions. For lunch, you can enjoy gourmet dishes in one of the many slope-side mountain huts. Return to your hotel for dinner.
- Day 3 - KRONPLATZ SKI AREA
Today, a private transfer will take you to Plan de Corones, also known as Kronplatz, one of South Tyrol's most popular ski areas. This resort features wide slopes where you can enjoy high-speed turns. From the highest point, you can admire spectacular views stretching from the Austrian Alps to the Dolomites. Don't miss the change to visit to the Messner Museum (MMM Dolomites), a museum dedicated to the history and geology of the Dolomites. After a day surrounded by nature, return to Alta Badia, where you can relax at your hotel.
- Day 4 - MARMOLADA GLACIER
On ski, you leave Alta Badia behind and head towards one of the most iconic areas of the tour: the majestic Marmolada glacier. Also known as the Queen of the Dolomites, Marmolada is the highest peak in the Dolomites. The descent down the glacier is exceptional: 12 km of uninterrupted piste with a descent of about 1800 meters. A long, exciting slope surrounded by a unique landscape. Before reaching the Queen, you can enjoy at a couple of challenging descents in the Arabba ski area. From the village, the cable car takes you up in the sky to Porta Vescovo, from where you can already admire the long descent on the glacier that awaits you in a while. By mid-afternoon, a private transfer takes you to Val Gardena, where your next alpine home awaits.
- Day 5 - VAL GARDENA SKI AREA
Your first day in Val Gardena bring you to ski through the villages of Selva, Santa Cristina, and Ortisei on the circuit called Val Gardena Roda. You will ski in a much quieter but very scenic and rewarding area, perfect for a more relaxing with dramatic views of the Sassolungo and Odle mountain ranges. From Ortisei, you can choose to reach Alpe di Siusi, the highest and largest plateau in Europe. This place seems suspended between fairy tale and reality, dominated by a profound sense of peace. Return to your hotel in Val Gardena for another restful evening in the heart of the Dolomites.
- Day 6 - SELLARONDA CIRCUIT
The last day of skiing takes you on the Sellaronda, one of the most famous ski circuits in the world. It is a 40 km loop around the Sella massif that connects four valleys: Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Val di Fassa, and Valle di Fodom. The circuit includes varied landscapes, all types of slopes, and above all, a mix of cultures and traditions.
