Ski touring in Lyngen Alps overlooking Norwegian Fjords

Ski touring itineraries which will take us from the sea level to snow-capped peaks: we are at the furthest point of Norway, living an adventure of pure adrenaline among the fjords of Lyngen Alps... and Tromso, the capital of Northern Lights.

Eight days of ski touring to discover a peculiar environment, whose snowy beaches and sharp mountains overlooking the sea are the main characters. Along with our Mountain Guide we will face challenging climbs and thrilling descents among the Norwegian Fjords.

A steaming sauna and fresh salmon will be part of our nights, while waiting for the Northern Lights to show up!

Program details

• DAY 1: meeting in Milano Malpensa with the Mountain Guide UIAGM, flight to Tromso and private transfer to the peninsula of Lygen, accomodation in rorbu, dinner and overnight stay.
• DAY 2: reminder on the important notions of avalanche self-rescue, daily ski mountaineering excursion.
• DAY 3 - 7: daily ski mountaineering excursions, to be defined in agreement with the participants and according to the nivo-meteorological conditions, with an average elevation gain of 1000m.
• DAY 8: private transfer to the airport and flight back to Milano Malpensa.

Note

The program may undergo variations at the discretion of Base Camp Team / Alpine Guide - UIAGM, based on the weather forecast and snow conditions, while maintaining the substantial structure and aims of the proposal unaltered.

On site it will be possible to supplement the Travel Idea with the booking of boat tours along the fjords / evening snowmobile tours / visits to a craft stockfish processing center.

Ski Touring in Lofoten Island

Norway is one of the most desired destinations for every Ski Touring lover: its fascinating views and the vast range of routes it offers make Norway a fairytale setting.

The snow-capped mountains overlooking the sea, the picturesque "rowers' houses" or rorbuer, typical Norwegian homes, the priceless show of the Northern Lights... create the perfect conditions to tackle every scenic itinerary over the white slopes of Lofoten Islands.

The effort is soon forgotten, the reward comes through the thrilling powder descents and the views, worthy of a postcard.

Program details

• DAY 1: meeting in Milan Malpensa with the UIAGM Mountain Guide, flight to Harstad/Narvik and accommodation in hotel/apartment.
• DAY 2: transfer to Svolvaer and first ski day; focus on the topic of avalanche self-rescue. Accommodation in rorbu/apartment.
• DAY 3-6: ski tours among the wonderful fjords of the Lofoten Islands, to be defined based on the weather forecast and snow conditions.
• DAY 7: last ski touring day in Lofoten; transfer to the Harstad/Narvik airport during the evening, accommodation in hotel/apartment.
• DAY 8: transfer to the airport and return flight to Milan Malpensa.
