Hiking in the Alps of Trentino, Italy

Enjoy a seven-day hiking tour of the Brenta Dolomites, Adamello and Ortles Cevedale: discover the 3 main mountain groups of Western Trentino! From Val di Sole, a central site that will allow you to easily reach the starting points of each day hike, you will experience excursions of great satisfaction and with significantly different environmental characteristics. You will explore the jagged peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and the tonalite-rock mountains of Adamello, and move on to the sunny southern side of the Ortles-Cevedale chain, a territory which falls mostly within the protected area of ​​the Stelvio National Park.

An original and varied tour featuring the most significant routes of north-western Trentino in five days.

Program details:

• Day 1  - WELCOME TO TRENTINO
  Travel to the hotel in Val di Sole and check-in. Here you will meet other group members and the professional Guide for a briefing. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 2 - THE BEAUTY OF THE STELVIO NATIONAL PARK, Saent Falls hike
  Ascent: +380m. Descent: -380m. Distance: 6km. Hiking time: 3h.
  In the morning, we ride by private shuttle to Val di Rabbi for a guided excursion to the impressive Saent Falls (1690m ), followed by a stop at the shack of Malga Stablasolo (1535m), where we will have the option to savour some traditional local dishes. After the hike, return to the hotel by private vehicle for dinner. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 3 - HUTS AND WATERFALLS OF THE BRENTA DOLOMITES, Tuckett Hut and Vallesinella Falls hike
  Ascent: +135m. Descent: -1020m. Distance: 10km. Hiking time: 4h.
  After breakfast, private transfer to Campo Carlo Magno and then ascend by cable car to the Grostè Pass (2442 m) in the heart of the Brenta Range (UNESCO World Heritage site). Begin an amazing excursion to the Tuckett Hut (2272m), surrounded by rock formations that take on different colors, shapes and layers: majestic vertical walls, sharp peaks and rock towers. Our return path will lead us through more valleys as we hike through the vegetation, then across wooden bridges we reach the base of the High Vallesinella waterfalls, a perfect rest stop to behold its beauty, along with the sound of its splashing water. Return to the hotel by private shuttle. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 4 - DISCOVER THE PEIO VALLEY, Covel Lake hike
  Ascent: +350m. Descent: -30m. Distance: 5km. Hiking time: 2h30.
  Private transfer to the town of Peio (1584 m). Today’s hike departs from the Austro-Hungarian cemetery of San Rocco, passing by the Covel waterfalls and the peaceful Lake Covel to reach the Scoiattolo Hut (1990m) for a lunch break and some rest. We will also have the option to ascend by cable car to a 3000-meter mountain top, which affords breathtaking views of the Dolomites and the glaciers of the Presanella mountain range. After the descent from the Scoiattolo Hut by cable car, a guided visit to the Presanella Dairy - renowned for its traditional alpine cheese production - is scheduled, followed by the return to the hotel aboard a private shuttle. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 5 - A WALK IN THE CLOUDS OF VAL DI SOLE, Presena Glacier hike
  Ascent: +150m. Descent: -150m. Distance: 3km. Hiking time: 1h30.
  After breakfast, we will ride to the Tonale Pass by private shuttle and ascend by cable car to the Paradiso Pass (2560m). A breathtaking glacial landscape welcomes us with the crystal-clear waters and the changing colors of alpine lakes, where the force of nature can be felt intensely. Our journey begins with a stop at the monument to the fallen soldiers of World War One, a silent tribute to the suffering experienced in these mountains. Afterwards, we will walk to a natural terrace that offers a spectacular view of the town of Vermiglio and the upper Val di Sole. The hike continues along a final stretch in a moraine environment, until we reach the Capanna Presena Hut (2730m), standing at the base of the glacier with the same name, accessible by cable car. From here we hike back to Paradiso Pass and then return to the Tonale Pass by cable car. After the descent, a visit to Forte Strino - an important Austro-Hungarian military fortress from WW1, now restored as a historical museum - will allow us to further explore the area's wartime history, before returning to the hotel by private shuttle.

• Day 6 - THE ALPINE LAKES OF THE ADAMELLO PRESANELLA RANGE, Tour of the Five Lakes
  Ascent: +390m. Descent: -710m. Distance: 9km. Hiking time: 4h30.
  After breakfast, private transfer to the popular tourist hub of Madonna di Campiglio, and ascent by cable car to the Five Lakes Hut (2065m), where our hike begins. The last excursion of our tour allows us to the discovery of a gorgeous basin, where the scenery created by the lakes, the surrounding mountains of the Presanella Range and the vista on the Brenta Dolomites is truly unique and spectacular. We will first encounter Lake Ritorto (2057m) and follow a route above the tree line which winds its way between granite boulders and slabs with light ups and downs, and coasting Lake Lambin (2325m) first, then Lake Serodoli (2375m) and the little Lake Nero (2245m). Finally, we proceed to the Lake Nambino hut (1780m), where we will share a final toast to our tour that unveiled the most magical sites of western Trentino! Return transfer from Madonna di Campiglio to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 7
  After breakfast, check-out and departure.
