PROGRAM
Along the northern coast of Iceland, at the heart of the Eyjafjörður fjord and among typical fishing villages, Akureyri rises above the sea, protected from the winds and just 100 km away from the Arctic Circle: it will be the starting point for our daily explorations with sealskins, ski touring itineraries chose to experience wild mountains, breathtaking views and descents. Secret password? Powder.
The Icelandic peaks overlooking the sea, along the same fjords where whales venture undisturbed, are the homes of legendary Trolls from whom the peninsula took its name (Tröllaskagi in the local language): it is the perfect place for those who love the adrenaline of freeriding over fresh snow, in unspoiled landscapes.
And who knows if the Northern Lights will put shyness aside and show themselves in their best outfit...
The selected itineraries have been chosen and tested by our team of experts. Base Camp assistance will never fail at every stage of the journey, while logistics and safety will be skillfully managed by our UIAGM Mountain Guide.
Program details
- DAY 1: meeting with Mountain Guide UIAGM in Milano Malpensa airport, flight to Reykjavik and car/minibus rental, accommodation in hotel/apartment.
- DAY 2: transfer to Akureyri and accommodation in hotel/apartment. .
- DAY 3-8: daily ski tours, itineraries' details to be defined according to participants, snow and weather conditions.
- DAY 9: ski tour, transfer to Reykjavik, accommodation in hotel/apartment next to the airport.
- DAY 10: transfer to the airport, return of the rented car/minibus and flight back to Milano Malpensa.
Note
The program may undergo variations at the discretion of Base Camp Team / Alpine Guide - UIAGM, based on the weather forecast and snow conditions, while maintaining the substantial structure and aims of the proposal unaltered.
