An Overall View

The Mas Sternai chalet is located in Val di Rabbi, home of the Stelvio National Park, and it dominates the valley thanks to its elevated position on the edge of the woods. The structure has been restored and renovated in full respect of the tradition of alpine farms with an intelligent use of wood and stone, in full harmony with the surrounding area.

The interiors of Mas Sternai surprise thanks to a refined combination of traditional elements of great architectural value and modern design pieces. The rooms are intimate and welcoming, with an engaging use of warm and cold colors that will make you feel immediately at home. The marriage between wood and stone that can be appreciated outside the structure is renewed in the interiors where the dominant wood element is accompanied by precious floors and beautiful tile decorations.

The Mas Sternai chalet develops over three levels. The ground floor has a direct exit to the outdoor garden and is made up of a double bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor we find the living area with kitchen and living room. The garden is also directly accessible from the first floor. The largest bedroom, with a double bed and a single bed, is located in the loft on the top floor.

The outdoor barbecue is the chalet icing on the cake thanks to its beautiful stone structure and a wooden roof, a game of elements that recalls the typical conformation of the alpine farmhouse.

To reach the hut you will have to travel a stretch (1.5 km) of forest road. The car must be parked about 350 meters from the house. The owner will help you carry your luggage to the chalet on the day of arrival and on the day of departure to bring it back to the car.

Location & Activities

The Mas Sternai chalet is located in Val di Rabbi, at an altitude of 1.400 m a.s.l. and with a dominant position on the small village of Somrabbi, a charming village in Val di Rabbi, gem of the Stelvio National Park. A few kilometers from the former mountain farmhouse, in the Cavallar locality, "Fruscìo" has recently been inaugurated, a wonderful natural sound park wood to relieve stress during your vacation days. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife near the chalet. Val di Rabbi is characterized by an incredible series of attractions that are now becoming real gems not to be missed: above all the suspension bridge over the Ragaiolo waterfalls and the Kneipp path in San Bernardo. The valley also hosts the thermal baths for those who want to enrich their holiday with moments of relaxation and well-being.
