The Italian Alps have a long tradition of via ferrata and they have been at the heart of the development of these structures. Specifically, the monumental Sentiero delle Bocchette in the Brenta Dolomites made history thanks to the importance of the intervention for crossing one of the most fascinating mountain groups in Europe. For this reason, in all world languages (with the exception of German) there is no translation of the term "via ferrata" and it is always taken from Italian, as the mountains of the Belpaese have always been the home of this suggestive and exciting mountaineering experience
